Activist Handbook is a Wikipedia-like platform for organisations and individuals to share and find knowledge on activism - for activists, by activists. To join, follow these steps:
We're activists from all over the world, so we cannot regularly meet face to face. Instead, we regularly have video calls. Are you new with Activist Handbook? We would very much like to get to know you during our next call! We also have an open Facebook group in which activists can exchange experiences. Lastly, we communicate using a Slack workplace. If you would like to join our Slack, make sure to fill in the form above
Our core team exists out of over 50 people from 20+ different countries (check out our members map). More than 100 people have joined our Facebook group. Learn more about our team on the about page.
You can also start editing today: Just create an account and start contributing to our collaborative handbook for activists.
We work together in various teams. If you would like to join one of our teams, make sure to sign up using the form at the top of this page.
Coordination team: All our team coordinators meet bi-weekly to make sure all teams are up to date of each others' progress.
Content team: This team moderates contributions to our website, writes articles and edits videos for our YouTube channel. If you are an experienced activist, a journalist, or a video editor and would like to share your knowledge and experiences, we very much welcome you on board!
Events team: This team brings together people from all over the world by organising online and offline events. If you like to take initiative and have some organising skills, this is the group for you.
Localisation team: We want our content to be available for everyone, which is why we have a team of translators from all over the world. If you are bilingual, we are happy to welcome you in our team.
Communication team: This team manages our social media and email. Do you have experience with online community building, managing Facebook, Instagram and/or Twitter? Join our team!
Developers team: This team contributes to our open source platform and ensures the website stays up and running. Do not hesitate to reach out if you are a developer with experience in networking, NodeJS, VueJS, WikiJS and/or web design.
Finance team: We're currently looking into registering as an official non-profit organisation and applying for funds to secure the long-term sustainability of our project. If you would like to volunteer, and have some fundraising experience, you are welcome to join this working group.
We believe that diversity strengthens our organisation. That is why we encourage people of all genders, sexual preferences and ethnic backgrounds, including people with disabilities, to join our cause.
